Diving
Two dives off one of our ribs or fibreglass boats will cost you $145. If you don't have your own kit, we can rent that to you for an extra $35. If you would like to learn to dive, that starts at $550, but you'll need educational materials and certification which costs $80 more. If you want to do a continuation course they start at $525. If there is one of you, the price is a touch higher.
If you pay with a credit card, the banks charge us between 3.5% and 10%. We pass on, only what they charge us.
Accommodation
A night in the Kervan Saray will cost you $165 for a single person including three meals a day and free tea and coffee. If there are two of you, it comes down to $137.50 per person. All rooms have en suite bathrooms and you only pay for your drinks. Getting a four wheel drive to the Kervan Saray can cost $90 per vehicle, but you can share this between four people if possible. There is wifi in the lounge area, but due to the fact that it comes by sattelite it is chargeable at $10 a day.
Lots of our food is sourced locally. The fancy stuff comes from Zanzibar. But if you need special foods that we need to import from the mainland, then we'll apply a small surcharge; but only at cost. You pay, what we paid.
Value Packages
For real value, please book a package that starts at $1450 for six nights accomodation and five days diving. (More at Christmas and peak times). If you want a deal, contact us, and ask us when we are least busy. If you can come during our quiet times, you might find we have a special off on. Our prices include VAT, SDL PAYE, ZSSF, Stamp duty, bank charges (not credit card-see above) and every other tax that the government throws at us. But they do not include the $5 a day park entry fee, as you decide how often you enter the park. In the likely event that the government raises taxes again, or the banks raise their fees, then we'll have to add that on in the form of a surcharge.
Finally please take the time to note the conditions below. They are applicable to every booking, even if you don't read them, so why not take the time to note the small print; and we'll all be happy.
Been on Safari??
If you fancy seeing some animals, and the wild wild wild african savannah. Then you've come to the right people. It is a (too) little known fact that we organise Dive and Dive/Wildlife Safari Packages. As we live in Tanzania, we know who is good and who is well, lets just saynot quite there yet. We only book the operators we know and really trust.

SWAHILI DIVERS PRIVATE LIMITED
Trading as Swahili Divers and Kervan Saray Beach.
Registered office, Main Road , Chake Chake, Pemba , Tanzania.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE
Placement of an order with Swahili Divers (p) Ltd (The company) is taken as acceptance by the customer of these terms and conditions.
Introduction
Please remember when reading through these terms and conditions that we bend over backwards to try and solve any problems arising during your trip and will try to avoid charging any cancellation fees wherever possible. We will beg, scrape and prostrate ourselves whenever necessary to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible. Customers are asked to remember that things don't always go quite to plan in Africa as they do elsewhere.
Liabilty:
The company takes no responsibility for loss, damage or injury arising from any shortfall, error or omission in the information passed to the customer during the course of the sale or subsequent delivery of the product.
Insurance
Customers are required to provide for themselves all necessary insurances against personal injury, loss, medical evacuation, medical assistance, hospitalisation, damage, theft, cancellation, delay etc. Some of the elements sold by us inherently have a high risk factor involved for the customer (eg. diving, safari, flying, mountain climbing etc.) and we take no responsibility for the consequences of the customer taking on such risks. We try to be as professional as possible, but Diving and Safaris are both adventure sports/activities and have inherant risks.
All customers are responsible for ensuring that they have full insurance cover that includes medical treatment, evacuation and or rescue and hyperbaric recompression from the moment that they first place their order and covering the whole period before, during and after travel.
You may NOT book with us, if you do not have adequate insurance, and in extreme cases, you will be considered self insured and have to cover all costs of your recompression, evacuations and legal defence.
Bookings
Once you have placed a booking with the company, the client will make a small non refundable deposit to secure said booking. It will be held until the booking is finalised. As soon as this takes place the client will be invoiced. The company’s pricing is based upon full prepayment 90 days in advance of service.
In the case of a last minute booking (less than 90 days) the booking must be paid for immediately.
Booking Ammendments:
Should you wish to make a change to your booking, then we will usually need to charge an amendment fee to cover additional administration costs. This is due to the lack of control the company has over third parties who provide services, such as airlines, hotels, safari companies etc. These charges can be quite significant, so best to avoid changes if at all possible.
If the changes involve the actual cancellation of any element of the booking, standard cancellation charges will apply. Changes which involve adding to an existing booking can usually be carried out without an amendment charge.
Denied Boarding
If your journey starts in the EU, you must work within the EU denied boarding law. Your airline must co-operate with you. You are however, still liable for the costs of your journey/Safari in Tanzania . The company will make every effort to re-arrange your journey, but you will NOT be entitled to any refund due to your non appearance for any sector or sectors or services of your journey.
Transfers
The company is not liable for any knock on effects arising from the failure of any one element of a sale, such as the non-departure of a boat or plane. Any cancellations arising thereof will be completely the responsibility of the customer. It remains the customer's sole responsibility to arrive and depart and travel between all elements of a trip. In practice you will not need to, but for legal reasons we have to insist that the customer must check with local transport operators the exact times and schedules for transport. There are only a few departures on which a failure can cause serious knock-on effects and we always try to construct trips which avoid such risks and will try to make you aware of any such possibilities. In Africa you soon learn to build a healthy degree of slack into your schedule.
Invoicing
Invoicing is in US$ or Sterling pounds at the request of the client. Once a booking is paid for, the price is guaranteed except in the case of surcharges.
Surcharges
In some rare cases suppliers feel the need to pass on surcharges to us for exchange rate fluctuations, fuel price increases, instantaneous government park fee increases.
The company reserves the right to pass on to customers any increase imposed on us by our suppliers.
Cancellations:
We are a small establishment that books up months in Advance. Therefore our Cancellation policy has to be strict: If you choose to cancel your holiday with us you will be left with the following options:
If you cancel more than 90 days before we will refund you 75% of your booking. (everything except the non refundable 25% booking fee)
If you cancel less than 90 days before service being delivered, you will forfeit 100% of your booking. This is due to the fact that we will have paid other service providers for elements of your holiday, and their booking conditions state 90 days.
In most cases, we will do our best to work with your insurance company to ensure that you can make a claim for a full refund.
Acceptance of Terms and Conditions:
The placing of a booking with Swahili Divers (p) Ltd for services implies that you accept the booking conditions.
Disputes
In the case of any dispute, the court of Law is Zanzibar.
PAYMENT IS TAKEN AS ACCEPTANCE OF THESE CONDITIONS
