Where is the hotel located?
The hotel is in Chake Chake, on the edge of the Township and
Pemba ’s capital. While it is not on the sea it does overlook a beautiful banana plantation and in the near distance, Chake Chake Creek and the sea. It is a short 10 minute ride from the airport and within walking distance of many shops, two local bars and all the airlines reservations offices.

Is it close to the water?
Its is close to the water, but not on the water front. We are 10 minutes ride from the sea.

Is there a beach?
There is no beach at the hotel but
Pemba has many secluded beaches. Transportation to the beaches, picnics and snorkelling opportunities are provided by us.

Is there a restaurant to the Hotel
Yes, we serve three meals daily and numerous snacks and sandwiches throughout the day. The fare is based upon local availability and has a high degree of Prawns, crabs, line fish, lobster and tuna.  We only buy our fish from fishermen that use lines and not nets and we only buy sustainable sized fish.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily.
The food is inspired by African, European and Swahili recipes with generous portions which are both wholesome and delicious. Our Chef Ali is a Pemban local who, under the guidance of Max Etienne, our Swiss Gourmand General Manager, prepares unique and exciting gourmet quality meals.

What time does the restaurant open in the morning?
As this is a dive resort, the restaurant opens at
7 AM . Hot coffee, eggs, fruits, breads and jams are available from that time.

What time does the restaurant close?
It closes after the last guest has eaten, this is usually
9 to 10 P.M. .If you come back late, we’ll hold the food or make a new dish.

Are the rooms air-conditioned?
Rooms 5 and 3 are fully air-conditioned, and as demand increases, we will be increasing the number of A/C units. We find however that most guests prefer to enjoy the cool evening breeze that blows off the sea and into the rooms.

Are there telephones in the rooms?
No, we believe that
Pemba is a tranquil place and should stay that way. We have a fax and phone facility downstairs that can be used at any time there is a member of staff on duty. If you have a mobile phone,  We can arrange to buy a local sim card for you to send and receive text messages and  telephone calls.

Can I drink the water?
We recommend that you only drink the local mineral water that is available in the hotel 24 hours a day and at shops island wide.

Do you have TV ?
We have a Television and DVD player in the bar-mezzanine area down stairs. This is used to show feature films, training films and to review customers' underwater videos and digital images.

How big are the rooms?
Our rooms are modest; due to the age and history of our building, each room has a unique layout. Our rooms have tiled or cooling cement floors, ceiling fans, air-conditioning (2 and 5) , spacious showers (5 & 6) and very  comfortable beds.

Is there a swimming pool?
Yes we have a small 4 metre diameter training/lounging pool at the base of the hotel. This is available to all guests during daylight hours.

What other activities are available, besides diving?
We offer eco tours, hiking, biking, cultural tours,
forest tours, bird-watching, deep sea fishing and photographic tours.
